CALIFORNICATION

This blog has been written by Tim Bannock in order to protect the innocent…

Air date scheduled for sometime around March 2011

*****

Laurie was on the set of CALIFORNICATION (Season 4, Episode 10 and 12 – finale? ) — starring David Duchovny — and as luck would have it, was in a court scene, which allowed her to wax all poetical on a piece of paper (or several, in this case) while in turn seeming to be in-character as a note-taking, courtroom member of the press. What follows is a glimpse into the mind of a person allowed to write their stream-of-conscious thoughts while listening to the drama of an unfolding series of allegations meant to debase a doctor and make him look like the sexual deviant he is.

Things They Say On Set -

  • on a bell
  • rolling
  • (letter) marker
  • set
  • background!
  • action

Specific Tidbits of Dialogue from This Scene -

  • Blotto [means completely wasted]…which can be added to cool phrases we’ve heard in Southern California like “wicked tossed”

Random Sightings -

  • “There is an actor on this episode … I can’t think of his name but I’ve seen him before. He goes to Aroma in Studio City a lot I think, because he asked another actress why he hasn’t seen her there anymore. (She moved.)”
  • I wonder who is reading this over my shoulder…”

Wash Your Hands, Please…

  • “I was in the bathroom and this girl was washing her hands… Okay, her hands were dirty, but she L-O-A-D-E-D up the soap (the foamy kind). I mean LOADED it in her hands so that it was overflowing all over the sink counter. She washed her hands, and then went to the other soap dispensor and did exactly the same thing all over again!”
  • “This was the same girl from PARKS & REC that got yelled at because she didn’t want to take off her hot pink robe on set while filming. She was cold. The next time filming here in Californication (I filmed for three days for two episodes), she had some sort of “emergency”. Who knows what it was but I’m sure it was not an emergency. How did she get picked to be the DA on set??? The shit Background puts up with because of a few screw ups in the bunch…”

CALIFORNICATION‘s Crew Is…

  • “We have literally been working all day. But this set is pretty good — the crew is fast and nice and it’s also a smaller call, which makes it a lot better!” This is the first day, the second day was a HUGE call and we were all stuck outside in the cold and rain, miserable. The third day was like the first only easier and shorter.
  • “Note to self: when I’m a known actor, be really nice to Background!”

Guess What We’re Really Saying -

Me: Do me!

Toni: I’ll show you how I like to do my women!

ANSWER: “Do” = “to draw” (Toni is an artist)

And that’s a wrap, folks!
