I worked as a photo double and stand in for the actress Katherine Moennig;



I got picked because of my resemblance to the actress and because of my tongue piercing.

Strange, I know. My dad would think this is just ridiculous. I haven’t worn my tongue ring in about three years. After 4 sets of braces and jaw surgery, I decided I didn’t want to chance chipping a tooth. But, when it comes to acting, things can change.

The first day, I worked 12 hours as a stand in and they didn’t have time to shoot the photo double part. They said they’d call to book it another day. A while went by before I heard anything and I just figured they cut that part out. But, I got the call on a Thursday afternoon asking if I was available to come in on Friday. I had to decline because my best friend was coming into town for only the weekend. I hated giving up that chance and pay but my friend was more important. If it was for a ton of money or a speaking role, I’m sure she’d understand if I took the job but that just wasn’t the case. I figured I lost my chance and they found someone else.

Well, the following Monday they called be again to see if I could work on Tuesday. Luckily I was available. I guess they had already filmed another girl doing the tongue piercing part but they wanted me because I looked more like Katherine.

I worked as background for the first part of the day and we didn’t shoot the tongue until the very end of the day. We did a few shots of me slowly taking my tongue ring out with the camera in my profile.

I wonder what it’ll look like when the film comes out.  These days, who knows if it’ll even be kept in there.

Both days I saw Matthew McConaughey, and I also saw Ryan Phillippe and Katherine Moennig on set as well.
